S. Chris T. Hey, did you know that you currently have a feature turned on that tells other people what you +1? Yep. Here's what it looks like when other people (like me) see what you've plussed. Is that info you want to be sharing? If not, you might want to turn it off. Thanks.
p.s., And a warning to everyone else: You can disable sharing your +1s in your G+ settings: Click "Settings" in the left-hand menu and then set "Who can see your "+1s on posts" activity?" to "Only You"

Kent Crispin + 1'd this post? Nah. I must say Kent, I haven't yet caught you on the hop plussing some dubious fetish.
ReplyDeleteHelen Ikua I don't think I'm fetishistic, though I am a bit eccentric.
ReplyDeleteSharing plus ones was a brain dead design decision from a privacy point of view, though I can see that it might enhance discovery of shared interests. I wish that Google would spend more effort on G+. Sigh.
Oh, I never figured you for a fetishist Kent, I pick my heroes rather carefully. :) But as far as Google's concerned, discovery of shared interests trumps privacy, apparently. Although, purely as a matter of communal participation and affirmation of friends' views, I can see the relevance of keeping the +1 function as far as individual comments and individual posts are concerned. Still, don't get me started on what's wrong with G+, from spammers, to a shoddy app (android version), to who knows what else, Gad!
